This term the girls of 1st Chand 2nd Charleville units have been working towards their Science and Technology Badge and this week they had loads of fun making worm houses (compost in a jar). For some it was the first time they had held a worm - it was quite exciting!! The girls also made lanterns out of old tins. The hardest part was putting holes in the tins to allow the light to shine through.

The girls of the 1st Charleville Unit have been busy working on their Science and Technology Badges. One of their challenges was to make an erupting volcano in the kitchen. The girls had a great time constructing their volcano and making it erupt under the watchful eye of their leader 'Magpie'. Also, in this particular Guiding session, the girs made tormadoes in The members of 2nd Charleville (Lone) Girl Guides have developed an unique way to connect together. One of the girls, Andy, thought of the idea of sending a travel buddy to each of the members. Our travel buddy, originally named Girl Guide Dog, but now more affectionately known as Wagggs, has been travelling around Queensland visiting all the Lone Guides of the Charleville unit. When Wagggs visits one of the members, he gains a special momento to remember his visit. As many of the girls live on properties, her has collected quite a few station 'tags'. He even has some sunnies and a special sash with a badge from a National Park (where one of our members live). The girls hope to send Wagggs to other Guide units once he has finished visiting all the girls in the unit. |
